Class 2 Licence

This is the licence most drivers start out training for. Any vehicle over 3.5 tonnes in a rigid body vehicle. Typically used for local deliveries.

Class 1 Licence

Any vehicle over 3.5 tonnes that has a detachable trailer. Typically used for longer routes and international distribution

The Certificate of Professional Competence is a legal requirement for any HGV driver who is transporting goods for hire or reward.
